The researcher will work in the research group of Experimental Particle Physics Instrumentation. The group is led by Professor Panja Luukka. Its research focuses on detector systems for particle tracking and timing in the CMS experiment in the CERN LHC accelerator, imaging detectors for medical physics, and detectors for nuclear safety and security applications. The researcher will be expected to contribute to these research topics and to the experimental responsibilities in the CMS experiment. The researcher will also collaborate with the Material Physics group led by Professor Kari Ullakko and develop lithographic, etching and coating (e.g. ALD) technologies for fabricating smart microdevices from thin foils/films and innovate new sensors on those chips.
